Catalog description
This study focuses on the historical and contemporary societal factors that shape the development of individual and group identities involving race, class, culture, and gender within vulnerable populations. This course describes complex networks of social structures and systems and how they play in the professionals’ role. The principles of rights, access, and equity to current social justice actions when evaluating strategies for working with vulnerable populations will be explored. This course is aligned with the Community and Human Services area of study guidelines for Skills & Application and Diversity.
