Catalog description
This course explores disparities and inequalities in health outcomes (i.e., morbidity, mortality) and health care access across multiple social categories. These outcomes reflect complex interactions between biological, environmental, and social contexts. The social determinants of health and how this knowledge can be applied to real life situations (e.g., disasters, chronic diseases) will be critically examined. This course aligns with the Community and Human Services area of study guidelines for Knowledge of Service Delivery, Skills & Application, and Diversity. This course is part of the BS in Public Health program.
