Catalog description

This course offers a study of the histories of the diversity of individuals and communities that make up U.S. society. Students will examine U.S. history in the context of native, captive, and immigrant ethnic groups and their interactions with one another. Ethnic history serves as a vehicle for revealing the complexities of political, economic, social and cultural issues. Students will analyze such issues and the civic engagement of individuals and communities across time, inter- and intra-ethnic interactions, and space.
