Creating Digital Art: Critique and Practice ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

Students will merge their interests in analog art forms such as drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and/or mixed media, with state-of-the art digital technology for creating and curating digital art. Students will also study artists whose work has made strides in this area, including a roster of current practitioners and others to be researched by the student. The goal is to continue learning and applying technology that will enhance the production of unique art works at the advanced level, by refining knowledge both aesthetically and technically. The course will culminate in the creation of a digital portfolio of work with accompanying written descriptions and references. Prerequisites: Before taking this course, students should have successfully completed 1 or 2 courses that included learning about digital software (such as the Adobe Creative Suite) including but not limited to Digital Art and Design, Digital Painting, or an equivalent..
