CSCI 4105
Generative AI and Advanced Machine Learning ((4 Credits))
Empire State University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Generative AI is reshaping how we build models, create content, and understand intelligence. This advanced course explores cutting-edge machine learning topics with a focus on generative models, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), and large-scale transformer models such as GPT. Students will implement deep learning architectures, evaluate generative performance, and explore ethical implications of synthetic content. The course balances theoretical rigor with practical applications using Python and deep learning frameworks. Students will complete hands-on labs, model replication projects, and a final generative AI capstone. Prerequisites: CSCI 3025 Python Programming, MATH 3011 Applied Linear Algebra, and CSCI 4020 Applied Machine Learning.
