Big Data and Cloud Computing ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

The goal of the course is to transition from small, local data manipulation and modeling to large-scale systems. To accomplish this goal, cloud computing tools, platforms and workflows will be introduced. Students will learn how to set up the necessary infrastructure to work with big data and build data pipelines that scale to massive datasets. This is a second course in data engineering tools for data science workflows. Prerequisites: CSCI 2115 Introduction to Data Engineering.
