Catalog description

This course is designed for students interested in working with and analyzing data with the goal of building scalable data pipelines to serve a variety of data consumers. The course focuses on using Python and SQL acquiring, cleaning, preprocessing, and storing data for use in downstream applications. Through hands-on data engineering exercises and a gentle introduction to the relevant tools, students will gain skills in deploying data pipelines to populate business analytics dashboards and fuel AI applications. This is a foundational required course in the B.S. in Data Science program. Prerequisite: CSCI 2020 – Introduction to Programming with Python, or equivalent course in Python programming
