Principles of Analytical Chemistry ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

This course provides an intermediate-level overview of Analytical Chemistry I and II (Quantitative Analysis and Instrumental Analysis) and is intended for non-chemistry science majors interested in understanding analytical techniques used to explore the composition of our world. Topics covered will include tools of analytical chemistry, chemical equilibria, classical methods of analysis/titrations, electrochemistry, spectrochemical methods, kinetics and separations, and practical aspects of analysis. Virtual laboratory exercises are included in this course. Prerequisites: Chemistry I: Lecture ( CHEM 1210 ); Chemistry I: Lab ( CHEM 1211 ); Algebra ( MATH 1040 ) -or- Precalculus ( MATH 1140 ) -or- Calculus I ( MATH 2140 ).
