Introduction to Painting ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

This course acquaints students with the formal elements of painting (color, composition, light, form, texture, figure ground relationship) through color-mixing and paint handling exercises. Color theory and its functionality will be emphasized and put into practice. Students will explore application of paint to canvas, panels, and/or paper working from still life or reference material.
