Humanities Through the Arts ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

Through a study of various artistic and intellectual expressions, students will learn about the arts and humanities disciplines such as literature, art, music, theater, cinema, and so forth. Students will also learn about basic language of art and prominent artworks. Students will study several enduring themes in the humanities such as morality, happiness, freedom, and life and death attitudes, and how they are expressed through the arts. Students will analyze the arts in historical, social, (multi)cultural, biographical, and aesthetic contexts and develop ability to critically respond, interpret, and evaluate the arts.
