Embark on an exploration of the vibrant worlds of theater, dance, music, and interdisciplinary performance in this exciting course. Through interactive discussions, engaging multimedia content, and the analysis of live and recorded performances, students will examine the history, cultural significance, and creative processes of the performing arts. Discover how performers, directors, composers, choreographers, and other collaborators bring productions to life. Learn about how technological changes such as artificial intelligence are transforming the performing arts. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for the role of the performing arts in society, develop a foundational vocabulary for interpreting and critiquing performances, and cultivate the skills to thoughtfully engage with diverse artistic traditions.
