Catalog description

Chem 205L will connect your understanding of the interaction of light and matter to the determination of molecular structure through spectroscopic methods. Students will assign atomic/ molecular spectra and analyze results to determine critical properties of the compound using rigorous math on real molecules. Students who withdraw from the laboratory course must withdraw from the co-requisite lecture course. *Exceptions to the withdrawal policy require Chemistry Department approval.
