Catalog description

This course introduces students to advanced data collection and analysis methods in support of uncrewed and autonomous system (UNSY) application for remote sensing (RS) purposes. A comprehensive review of RS in the UNSY context is provided, and students will have the opportunity to explore concepts, methods, and tools of RS data analysis and management through hands-on interactive manipulation of real-world examples as well as virtualizations. Students will gain further operational awareness of RS requirements and considerations for the task-oriented application of UNSYs and develop the knowledge and skills to support graduate-level research objectives with RS-data-based analysis methods. With the successful completion of this course, a student can expect to have gained further comprehension of key factors supporting the purposeful, productive, and replicable employment of UNSYs in real-world-relevant RS use cases and developed competencies in planning UNSY-based RS data collection and management as well as analysis of results and presentation of findings.
