An introduction to Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIST) applications in disaster management, security, and intelligence. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are tools for integrating and analyzing spatial data to identify patterns, visualize relationships, seek explanations, and develop solutions to real-world problems. GIS theory and practical applications of GIST. History of GIS; GIS software; data acquisition; data quality and ethics; interpretation and analysis; mapping; cartography.
