Examining the conduct of social research and security/disaster research. Identifying the relationship between theory and research methods as it applies to emergencies, disasters, and other domestic/homeland/civil security crises; discussing the logic of research methodology for case studies and lessons learned in emergency response; analyzing how to interpret data from existing research for decision making in crisis/disaster management and emergency response.
