Human Factors in Virtual and Simulated Environments

Catalog description

This course examines the relationship between the technologies used, the human component, the adverse physiological effects on the human, and the wide array of applications in which virtual and simulated environments are used in the field of aviation, aerospace, medicine, simulation, training, and engineering. The course discusses various topics in advanced virtual and simulated environments such as fidelity, transfer of training, simulation, and simulator/cybersickness. Benefits and detriments of the use and implementation of technology are discussed along with a discussion of the physiological effects resulting from the use of this technology on the human component.
