An introduction to the operating environment of air traffic control; overview of major governing authorities including the Federal Aviation Administration, the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Eurocontrol, and Brazil's Department of Airspace Control along with other controlling agencies, including the mission, organization and operations, regulations, publications, manuals, maps, charts, and regulations used by pilots and air traffic controllers. ATC procedures, and future air traffic control systems are also discussed.
