Prerequisite:None. Students who are native speakers or who have previous knowledge of the language are strongly encouraged to take placement testing in the Testing Center. Students may apply to receive (proficiency) credit for each course for which they demonstrate mastery through placement testing. ^ Designed for students who have no previous background in German. Includes essentials of grammar, pronunciation, practice in sentence structure, elementary composition and conversation. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of the following skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. (1.1) Proficiency Credit Available (2 CHT) Pass/No Credit Available
