Catalog description
Prerequisite: Reading: Grade of C or better in RDG 091 or LTC 099, or satisfaction of other placement criteria. Writing: Grade of C or better in ENG 098 or LTC 099 or satisfaction of other placement criteria. ^ The course provides an overview of teaching as a profession in the American education system. Students will be introduced to and explore instruction and assessment practices rooted in a variety of historical, philosophical, legal, inclusive, and equitable perspectives. The course supports students in developing their skills as collaborative and reflective practitioners. A 15 hour directed observation is required.(1.1) Special Note: Students enrolled in EDN 100, EDN 204 and EDN 211 may be required to complete a background check/fingerprinting process in order to participate in the clinical component of the course.
