Catalog description

Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in CHN 101; one year of H.S. Chinese with grade of C or better; one semester of Chinese in college with a grade of C or better; or placement. ^ Intermediate Chinese I is the third level of our sequence designed for students with elementary knowledge of Chinese. The course is built on a framework established of National Standards. The class uses a communicative approach to engage students in the learning process. The focus is to keep improving students overall ability to understand and use the language accurately and appropriately, and demonstrate understanding of contemporary Chinese life and culture.
