Catalog description
Prerequisite: Reading: Grade of C or better in RDG 091 or LTC 099, or satisfaction of other placement criteria. Math: Grade of C or better in MTH 095, MTH 098, or MTH 099, or satisfaction of other placement criteria. ^ This course is designed as an introductory chemistry course for students preparing for nursing and other health professions programs. Topics covered include measurements; states, compositions, and properties of matter; atomic structure and chemical bonding; chemical reactions, chemical equations and calculations of formula mass and moles; solutions; acid-base equilibria and nuclear chemistry. (1.1) Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Physical Sciences (lab) requirement. IAI Course Number P1 902L Proficiency Credit Available (2 LT) Pass/No Credit Available
