Catalog description

In this course, students are introduced to adult patients with moderate to severe disease states. Theory and clinical practice will focus on the biophysical concepts in medical-surgical conditions. Students will examine problems associated with tissue integrity, nutrition, inflammation, perfusion, acid-base balance, fluid and electrolytes, elimination, hormonal and glucose regulation, functional ability, safety, sexuality, and selfmanagement.
