Catalog description
The Preventive Medicine course provides a population health perspective to clinical prevention and reinforces evidence-based principles as applied in the fields of infectious disease, chronic disease, mental and behavioral health, occupational and environmental health, and global health. Community and population health principles are addressed by identifying concepts integral to health promotion and disease prevention. Students are also introduced to analyzing data on disease outbreaks and emerging diseases and applying measures to control the spread of disease. This course includes an Interprofessional Experience (IPE). •
