Pharmacology I

Catalog description

The Pharmacology Course is designed to provide a basis for making clinical decisions in the pharmacologic management of the most common muscular and skeletal conditions seen in clinical medicine and primary care. The course applies the principles of pharmacology relative to therapeutics including indications, mechanism of action, rationale, efficacy, complications, and risks for the most current and commonly prescribed medications used. The course includes the importance of monitoring the expected effects and potential adverse effects of medications prescribed. The course includes an introduction to the ethics, research trials, cost, efficacy, age, and quality of life to assist the future clinician in selecting the appropriate medication for the most common muscular and skeletal conditions. •
