Catalog description

This course introduces the student to the concepts of criminalistics. It provides an overview of the investigative units that make up the Institute of Forensic Science of Puerto Rico and the criminalist laboratory of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FB I), including its components and organizational functions in the investigation of crimes. Students will be presented with the theories and principles regarding to the roles of a forensic investigator, forensic chemist, polygrapher, forensic ballistic reviewer, forensic pathologist, fraud investigator and fingerprint analyst.
