Pre-requisitess: None In this course, students will study and analyze the history and evolution of pharmacy and the values and characteristics associated with the profession. The role of the Pharmacy Assistant will be defined and discussed, as will their duties, responsibilities and rights. The importance of communication in a pharmacy environment is emphasized as well as the factors that intervene in human relations, their effects on efficiency and the organizational dynamic in the pharmacy. Included are the basic fundamentals of reading prescriptions, dosage, expiration, labeling and classification of medications.
