Introduction to Clinical Practice

Co-requisites: None In this course, the student is introduced to clinical practice. The student is exposed to patient management, safety measures, and communication dynamics between the patient and the physical therapy assistant. It will help the student integrate previously studied concepts through the analysis of clinical cases and treatment plans. All techniques used by the student are applied under the direct supervision of the licensed physical therapist in accordance with Law 114. The actions carried out by the student will be guided by the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards. The course consists of 60 hours of clinical laboratory and 15 hours of seminar, where the professor integrates practical experience and theory.
