Catalog description

Co-requisites: PTA 1121 This course prepares the student to develop aseptic techniques as established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health A dministration (OSHA) regulations. The student will learn various techniques, such as taking vital signs, managing patients with skin alterations and sensory deficits, body mechanics, proper posture, positioning, bed mobility, and patient transfer. It will also train the student in managing patient/client privacy in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
