Three (3) credits, 45 hours This course is intended to provide students with a basic understanding of the historical struggles for civil rights in both Puerto Rico and the United States. The content will include the constitutional and sociological processes, the judicial precedents and the scope of the Bill of Rights of both constitutions. The various key figures in the achievement of civil rights and in the necessary legislation to vindicate basic rights claimed in different circumstances and under different historical processes will be examined.
