Co-requisite: NUR 3260 This hands-on course offers the student the vision and perspective of a professional nursing role in the care of the individual as a member of the family institution and community groups in the health -disease continuum. The student executes the nursing skills in the laboratory (effective communication, handling of the material case, taking of vital signs, principles of asepsis and all those that apply to the community scope) and then intervene with individuals and families in assigned communities. Epidemiological, demographic and bio -statistical concepts are integrated to identify health deviations in the community and in community groups. The students develop a community research study where they use their critical thinking to identify problems and situations of risk and develop care plan s aimed at the management of different groups in the community.
