Catalog description
1301 This course provides an understanding of the mechanisms of diseases, why they originate, and how the normal function of the body is altered. It studies the structural and functional changes in the cells, tissues, and organs of the body that cause alterations in health or that are caused by a disease. In addition, it studies the etiology of the disease, homeostatic changes, compensatory mechanisms and the development of secondary diseases or their complications. The responses to stress, infectious processes and the pharmacological, nutritional and pathological aspects of each of the body's systems will also be studied.
