Catalog description

This course will discuss definitions and basic concepts of Forensic Toxicology. In addition to the history, source, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology and analytical techniques most commonly used in Forensic Toxicology. It includes the analysis of samples of biological fluids and tis sues for the purpose of isolating, identifying and / or quantifying toxic substances such as drugs and poisons. The functions and duties of the Forensic Toxicology Division in Puerto Rico and the United States are also discussed. Th e course consists of 30 lecture hours and 30 laboratory hours.
