Catalog description

This course gives students an overview of the history, origin and development of forensic science in Europe, United States and Puerto Rico. It examines the biographies of the first forensic scientists who contributed to the development of the field of criminalistics. Students learn about forensic science terminology, the role of the Institute of Forensic Science of Puerto Rico and other applicable jurisdictions. The course also discusses physical evidence handling and its legal aspects.
