Catalog description
This course introduces students to the importance of complying with local and federal building codes for construction projects. Students are exposed to fundamental aspects of the codes most commonly used by the government of Puerto Rico and the federal gov ernment. Students learn to evaluate existing projects according to these codes. They also learn to evaluate their own designs during the development process. Emphasis is placed on the use of technical vocabulary related to this field, as well as the applic ation of minimum requirements from building codes. The course reinforces the knowledge necessary to create designs that meet the parameters required by the relevant authorities in Puerto Rico.
