Catalog description

The course of General Botany introduces the biology of plants, its structure and function, as well as, a brief revision of the evolution and ecology of the plant kingdom. It emphasizes floriferous plants mainly present in Puerto Rico, and others of importance to humanity. Contemporary topics related to the biology of the plants, such as, their biotechnology and conservations are also discussed. This course is aimed for students in natural sciences and similar majors that have already taken a general biology course. This course includes laboratories, participation and assistance to multiple field trips is also required.
