Catalog description

Introduction to a variety of beginning method books, repertoire (early through late-elementary and intermediate levels), scholarly and professional resources, philosophies, and experiences that are essential in helping both new and experienced teachers develop and hone a foundation of effective teaching skills. Students will engage in piano teaching activities and compile a final portfolio that will contain practical tools needed to successfully prepare for future teaching careers in the piano field as independent teachers or instructors at pre-collegiate institutions/programs.
