Global Perspectives
East Carolina University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Students develop skills, knowledge, and understanding that helps them communicate and engage more appropriately and effectively when working in a variety of personal, social, and professional contexts. Through a variety of texts, visual media, and case studies, students engage with cultures from around the world, learn how cultural differences shape communication and business practices, and understand the role of intercultural competence in the context of international relations and diplomacy. By engaging with different perspectives from around the globe, students increase their own cultural self-awareness and develop tools as well as personal leadership skills to help them become more effective in an interdependent world.
