Nursing Education Practicum I

Catalog description

This clinical practice experience provides nurse educator students an opportunity to integrate and apply new knowledge from advanced courses to the direct care of a selected population in acute care, long-term care, home health, community-based settings, and educational settings.Students will assess the impact of social, cultural, economic, and ethical factors on the client’s outcomes while refining professional competencies. Clinical experiences will be documented in a reflective journal including analysis and evaluation of the advanced nursing direct-care role. At the end of this course, students will be able to perform in the role of an advanced practice nurse and demonstrate attainment of the program outcomes.
