Catalog description

This course further expands upon the use of the nursing process in caring for adults, from early adulthood through geriatrics, with multiple physiological and psychosocial needs. Students will utilize clinical decision making and nursing evidence to prioritize, communicate, plan and manage care for medical-surgical patients in diverse health care settings. Core principles of health promotion, maintenance, and restoration will be incorporated to reflect an individualized plan of care. Students will coordinate with members of the interdisciplinary team and identify quality improvement processes that enhance patient outcomes. Learning opportunities for this course include classroom and supervised clinical experiences.
