Catalog description

The focus of this course is to provide client-centered care to clients with acute, chronic and complex healthcare needs across the lifespan. The elements of evidence-based practice will be utilized to enhance the plan of care. Students are given the opportunity to gain cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills in the delivery of client care to patients with hypertensive, reproductive, endocrine, and immune disorders and musculoskeletal alterations . Many of the clients may be more critically ill than those previously encountered. Students will continue to be introduced to the skills of intravenous phlebotomy and electrocardiogram tracing. Nutritional needs for these clients will be identified and addressed. Available sources of informatics will be utilized in the care setting to organize and manage client care.
