Medical Assisting Externship

Catalog description

This externship is a culmination of all the learning and practice acquired with in-house courses. The student goes into a “real-life" medical environment and applies their skills and knowledge while interacting with patients and co-workers. The extern performs clinical and administrative duties required of an entry level Medical Assistant during the supervised, graded, MA practice. Employer agreements, detailed job descriptions, employer evaluations and duties directly related to the student’s program of study are required. This course is approved, coordinated and graded by faculty. This course is taken after all other courses have been completed.
