Catalog description

This course covers the principles and practices of intrusion detection, firewalls, and access control as core components of network defense. Students learn how to configure and evaluate defensive mechanisms that safeguard systems against unauthorized access and malicious activity. Artificial intelligence (AI)–enhanced analysis tools will be used to assist in research and analysis for assignments. Emphasis is placed on applying layered security techniques, analyzing system logs, and designing policies that reinforce organizational resilience. By combining foundational security practices with AI-augmented methods, students gain practical experience in defending networks and developing skills that align with industry needs in security operations.
