Catalog description

This course introduces the principles of cybersecurity with an emphasis on maintaining secure and resilient computing environments. Students explore foundational concepts of cyber defense, including threat identification, vulnerability management, and incident response. Special focus is given to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern security practices, where students learn how AI-driven tools can detect, analyze, and mitigate evolving threats. Through applied exercises, students develop skills in safeguarding systems, evaluating security controls, and integrating AI-augmented methods into defense strategies. This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to prepare students for the CompTIA Security+ certification and entry-level roles in cybersecurity.
