Pre-requisites: SOWK 525 and SOWK 531 ; or SOWK 561 . Frames social work as a policy-based profession and social workers as policy practitioners. Examines current policy and program developments in contemporary areas of social welfare that impact populations at risk. Research and theory pertaining to social problems and institutional responses. Three domains of institutional response—legal, professional, and program—are covered.
