Pre-requisites: graduate standing and permission of the instructor. Reviews Federal and State legislation as well as local policies that affect the role of the social worker in the public school. Reviews how the school system functions as a part of our total society. Describes how social work knowledge, skills, and values provide an ecological approach to preventative, crisis, and remedial care for school children and their families.
