Notes: may be stacked with SOWK 429 . Pre-requisites: open to seniors and graduate students in the School of Social Work and related fields. Designed to provide knowledge and understanding of direct social work practice in various health care settings. Students examine the impact of illness, disease, trauma/disability, and death and dying from ecological and systems perspectives. Roles, functions, and administrative responsibilities of the social worker as case manager, health educator, advocate, and a member of interdisciplinary teams are reviewed.
