Catalog description

Pre-requisites: admission to the MS Counseling program. Introduces a broad spectrum of issues of multicultural considerations in counseling, including an examination of their personal history/background and its impact on their perception of and response to diversity in clients. Topics include: the influence of heritage, cultural identities, attitudes, values, beliefs, understandings, within-group difference, and acculturative experiences on individuals’ worldviews and help-seeking and coping behaviors.
