Catalog description

Pre-requisites: all courses in physical therapy are restricted to students accepted into the program. Corequisite: PHTH 623SL . Covers examination, evaluation and intervention of the neuromuscular system and associated diagnoses. Focuses on PT for patients with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, vestibular disorders, degenerative and other neurological diseases. Emphasis is on management of the patient across the continuum of care. Content includes patient handling, intervention from low to high functioning patients, gait training, use of orthoses and specialty equipment. Companion course to PHTH 623SL .
