Catalog description

Pre-requisites: all courses in physical therapy are restricted to students accepted into the program. Corequisite: PHTH 521SL . The structure and function of the central nervous system are presented in this foundational course in physical therapy. Topics include neuronal excitation, somatosensation, cerebral blood supply, cranial nerves, spinal reflexes, motor control, and sleep regulation. Students identify components of the human brain and spinal cord in a cadaver laboratory. Companion course to PHTH 521SL .
