Catalog description
Notes: may be stacked with MATH 448 . Pre-requisites: admission to graduate program. This course is an advanced study of partial differential equations (PDEs). The course is principally focused classical solutions of the heat equation, wave equation, advection equation, and Laplace equation. Students will learn how to model a variety of applications where PDEs arise. In addition, the method of finite differences and the use of technology through mathematical software will be covered. Additional topics may include energy methods, existence and uniqueness, and integral transforms.
